Thunder!

No, it's not just a classic football pre-game song by AC/DC anymore.... it's Desert Hills High School "Thunder" and Eli's 6th grade team.  Eli played his first full season of little league football (he played a few games in 3rd grade before we moved from Idaho) as a Running Back and Defensive End.  He always yells and screams on the field to get his team fired up (he takes after his Dad).  Eli: "WHO ARE WE?" Team: "THUNDER!" Eli: "HOW DO WE HIT?" Team: "HARD!" He'll repeat that a few times then yell "THUNDER!!!!!!"  Eli has become a fan of Desert Hills football now, going to as many of the high school games that he can.  He even changed his favorite song to "Thunderstruck".  He listens to it before almost every one of his games.

It's good to see him enjoy the sport and take it seriously with a firm determination to win.  They ended up with some wins and losses, and some great plays.  I hope he looks back with a positive view of the season, even if they didn't take first place in the league.  It's all about the experience!

Spring Baseball 2011

Spring was busy with the boys in baseball. Eli and Easton had two games a week with a practice on top of that. Luckily with Braxton only in t-ball, he had one optional practice and one game a week. I won't be disappointed if they don't all choose baseball as their spring sport. The upside to the schedule was that we had our Saturdays free. I do prefer a busy week if I know we have our Saturdays for family time.

It came!!

My 3 boys are in school all day.  I didn't picture this day becoming a reality, but it's here.  It's great to be more scheduled now with school and work after enjoying a less-scheduled summer.  Upon entering this new phase of the boys being in school all day (even though, I had an opportunity come along last spring to work daily, with a way flexible schedule), I am more eager to get back to recording our family happenings, even if it is a sample-size entry, who doesn't love a sample?  I'm looking forward to this revived decision.  There's something so great in expressing thoughts & experiences.
